Change a Life and Change our Community – Become a Literacy Tutor!

Low literacy is at crisis level in our region.  You can help change these statistics by becoming a Literacy Tutor.

Adult learners seek literacy programs to meet a wide range of goals.  Some want to achieve their GED or join a work training program.  Some want to go to college.  Parents want to be able to read to their children, help them with their homework and better interact with their teachers.   Some want their driver’s license or U.S. citizenship.

You can help them reach these and other life-changing goals.

  • Volunteer tutors receive training and materials, and will work with one to two learners over time to help them improve their reading and comprehension.
  • Reading Works Impact Partners are located throughout the metro area.
  • Your tutoring schedule is at mutual agreement between you and your learner.
