Adult Literacy Programs:
- GED Preparation classes and tutoring at the Learning Lab and Harris Literacy Program
- English as Second Language classes for all skill levels at the Learning Lab
- Computer instruction for improving skills in job search and online job applications and for resume writing
All students take an assessment to determine their starting levels and are tested regularly to measure progress.

The mission of Southwest Solutions Adult Learning Lab is to improve the academic and employability skills of low-income adults so they can gain good jobs, manage their finances, and raise successful families.
For more than 40 years, Southwest Solutions has pursued its mission to help build a stronger and healthier community. Our organization provides over 40 programs and partnerships in the areas of human development, economic development, and resident engagement. These three areas together form a comprehensive neighborhood revitalization strategy and effort that helps more than 25,000 people a year.
Southwest Solutions offers mental health counseling, early childhood and school-based services, children and youth services, affordable and supportive housing, homeownership services, real estate and commercial development, financial literacy, workforce development, entrepreneurship training, and more.
Other Programs Offered:
Learning Lab members enroll in Southwest Economic Solutions’ Center for Working Families to receive support for income assistance, managing finances and building employment skills.
